Practical answers, with the detail you need.
Find out what MyCarerHub is being built to do, who can join the proposed trial and how the intended record-handling approach works. We explain what is planned and what still needs to be confirmed.
About MyCarerHub
What everyday problem is MyCarerHub trying to solve?
Carers can end up keeping appointments in one place, care notes in another and supporting documents across emails and folders. Preparing for a review or finding the next action may involve searching through several sources.
MyCarerHub is being developed to connect those details around the right child, placement and household. The aim is clearer organisation, less repeated searching and more useful follow-up. The trial will help test whether the workflows achieve that in practice.
Who is the product being built for?
The initial focus is foster, kinship, respite and permanent carer households across Australia. Households may need to organise several children’s information, different professional contacts and changing care arrangements.
Residential-care and multi-household agency products are future developments. Child safety sector employees can participate in the proposed trial to offer feedback, but the initial household product is not presented as an organisation-wide case-management system.
What kinds of information will it help organise?
The design covers placements and history, important people, Family time, communication, appointments, tasks, health and medication, education, transport, incidents, finance, documents and reports.
For example, a health appointment can be connected with the relevant child, professional, documents and follow-up action. The selected trial release will have its own feature list and known limitations; not every described capability is necessarily ready for testing.
Does respite end the child’s main placement?
The intended workflow keeps a temporary stay separate from a decision to close the child’s main placement. The trial guide will confirm which steps are ready to test.
Respite into your home. Inbound respite is when a child or young person comes into your household for a respite placement. Record the planned stay, essential care information, key people and the arrangements for leaving your home. Keep this stay identifiable within the child’s placement history.
Respite away from home. Outbound respite is when a child or young person already living with you stays temporarily with another carer. Keep the underlying placement open while recording the temporary carer, dates, handover needs and return home.
In a fictional example, a child goes to another carer from Friday to Sunday. The intended workflow records that short stay and return while preserving the ongoing placement. Finishing the stay is separate from closing the main placement.
Several children with different arrangements. Record each arrangement against the correct child, with their own carer, dates and return details. In a fictional example, two children go to different respite carers. One returns on Sunday and the other on Tuesday. Recording the first return should leave the second child’s stay unchanged, and both underlying placements should remain open.
Hospitalisation and other temporary absences should also have their own history without automatically ending the underlying placement. Closure and reinstatement are separate decisions. For record return, access and retention, see Privacy, access and records below.
Taking part in the trial
Is MyCarerHub available to use now?
MyCarerHub is in development. We are preparing an invitation-only trial with ten participants before considering a wider release. Tester access is not yet open, and this website does not provide an immediate trial login.
The first trial will use fictional examples in a selected release. It is a chance to test and improve the product, rather than an invitation to move real household records into it.
Who can express interest in the trial?
The proposed group includes foster and kinship carers and child safety sector employees. Someone who has both caring and professional experience can describe both roles.
Carers can comment on the practical household experience. Sector employees can help assess terminology, workflows and the clarity of proposed records and reports. Participation does not imply an employer’s or government department’s endorsement.
How do I let you know I am interested?
Email admin@managingcare.com.au with your first name, state or territory, and your caring or professional role. You do not need to send information about a child or a particular case.
At present this is an enquiry by email; an online application form is not available. Expressing interest does not reserve a place or create an account. Selected participants will receive the relevant information and individual access before testing starts.
What will participants be asked to do?
Participants will be given focused tasks using fictional examples. Proposed scenarios include placement setup, temporary respite and return, an incident with a follow-up action, reviewing information for a report and checking an unsaved-change warning.
Useful feedback explains the steps you took, what you expected and what happened. The release guide will confirm which tasks are suitable, the expected time commitment and how to get help. Those details are still being prepared.
Can I use real care records or workplace case information?
No. The initial trial is limited to fictional examples. Do not enter real children’s names, photographs, health details, placement documents, family information or organisational case records.
This applies to the application itself, enquiries, feedback and screenshots. Use the supplied examples and check a screenshot before sending it, so it does not include identifying information, passwords or security keys.
When will the trial start, and is there a charge?
A start date and the practical participation arrangements have not yet been confirmed. Access will follow selection of a suitable test release and completion of the checks and information needed for the trial.
We will explain the schedule, expected effort and any applicable participation costs before you decide to take part. Paid product subscriptions are not open; no trial price or free-access promise is being made on this website.
Privacy, access and records
Where will care records be stored?
The approved production direction is local encrypted care records and encrypted documents. The WordPress website has a separate purpose: explaining the product and supporting limited business enquiries.
Local storage, installation, backup and recovery need to work together. These arrangements are still being implemented and verified. This website is not a place to upload care records, and the initial fictional-data trial does not establish that the production protections are operational.
Will two carers share a login?
No shared login is part of the approved production design. Each carer is intended to have a separate identity, with one nominated billing and correspondence contact where applicable.
The approved design also calls for immediate security notices to both carers for specified events, including new-device sign-ins and changes to authentication, subscription, payment or security details. Implementation and delivery still need verification before these controls can be relied on.
Are encrypted records and backups already guaranteed?
No. The production design includes an encrypted database, encrypted documents, encrypted household backups and guided recovery. These are implementation and testing requirements, not guarantees established by the website.
A usable backup must be recoverable, so restoration needs testing as well as backup creation. Product instructions will explain the supported arrangements once validated. The website’s own backup is separate from a household’s care-record backup.
Will every note automatically be included in a handover?
The intended approach is to prepare relevant care information for review before sharing. The carer should check the intended child, recipient and scope rather than automatically sending everything.
Restricted Carer administration and advocacy records are intended to remain outside routine care-record handovers and exports unless deliberately selected through an authorised review. This separation is not a promise that information can never be subject to an applicable lawful disclosure requirement.
Does the website set the rules for returning or keeping records?
No. A placement ending, a temporary respite stay and a later reinstatement are different situations. The applicable return, access, retention and deletion requirements depend on the circumstances and relevant jurisdiction.
MyCarerHub does not set one national retention period on this website or claim government approval or endorsement. Relevant requirements need to be resolved and reflected in the product’s procedures before real care records are entrusted to it.
Devices, pricing and help
What computer, phone or other equipment will I need?
The production direction includes personal-computer and household arrangements with local encrypted records. Supported operating systems, devices, installation steps and storage requirements have not yet been published as verified specifications.
Trial participants will receive requirements for their selected release. Please wait for validated guidance before buying a computer, server, drive or other equipment specifically for MyCarerHub.
What will subscriptions cost?
Prices and final plan inclusions have not yet been confirmed. Personal and Household arrangements are planned, with organisation products a future development. Paid subscriptions are not open.
When paid subscriptions launch, the intended promise is simple: if you are not happy within the first 30 days, we will refund the subscription payment in full. Final terms and the refund process will be available before purchase. Subscription payments will be made to Care Resource Management Pty Ltd.
How can I get help or report something that is not working?
For website and product enquiries, email admin@managingcare.com.au. Describe the page, what you were trying to do and what happened. Include your device or browser if it helps explain the problem.
Selected trial participants will receive the agreed support and feedback process. You can also use the enquiry address to report an accessibility difficulty or ask for information in a more usable format. Keep identifying care information out of messages and screenshots.
