Start small. Tell us what you find.

This guide is being prepared for admitted foster and kinship carers and child safety sector employees. Testing starts only after you receive individual access, the selected release details and the applicable tester information.

Getting started: follow stages 1, 2 and 3

Before you start

  1. Read the tester conditions, privacy information and known limitations supplied for your test release.
  2. Use your own admitted tester identity. Do not share your login.
  3. Use the supplied fictional examples only.
  4. Follow the scenarios assigned for that release. Stop if the instructions and the application do not match.
  5. Use the agreed support channel if you are unsure what to do next.

Proposed testing scenarios

Your release guide will confirm which of these scenarios are ready to test.

Scenario 01

Create a placement

Use a fictional child and check that the basic details follow through to the connected pages.

Scenario 02

Arrange outbound respite

Record a temporary stay and a return. Check that the underlying placement remains open.

Scenario 03

Separate children, separate stays

Use two fictional children with different temporary carers and dates. Check that one child’s return does not change the other’s stay.

Scenario 04

Record an incident and follow up

Use a fictional event. Record the response, create the relevant action and review the proposed report.

Scenario 05

Review before sharing

Check the report’s intended child and scope. Restricted administration and advocacy records must not appear in routine care handovers.

Scenario 06

Leave an unfinished form

Enter fictional information, then try to leave. Record whether the safeguard gives a clear way to save or stay on the page.

Make feedback easy to follow

Include the following in the agreed feedback channel:

  • Your tester code and test release.
  • The page or module and what you were trying to do.
  • The steps you took.
  • What you expected and what actually happened.
  • Whether it stopped you continuing.
  • Your device and browser, if relevant.

The feedback channel and issue-reference process will be supplied before admission. This page does not submit or store feedback.
